Freakin' DELISH. As mentioned by others the entire wait staff is very accommodating. The Berry iced tea is so refreshing and for those of us who like our Thai hot enough to burn through metal... they serve it in a carafe & leave it on the table so refills are quick and plentiful. (YAY) Our faves so far are the red curry and the cashew vegetable both made "thai spicy" the teriyaki chicken is also nice because it's a nice light sauce and it's served with huge broccoli spears. They also offer brown rice which is appreciated. We haven't tried the sushi yet but the tempura veggies are very good. We were not a huge fan of the dipping sauce though, if we order it again I think we'd ask for some ginger dressing or something with a bit more zing. Their lunch specials are worth the trip as they're only slightly smaller portions but include salad or soup. Since finding this place I'd say we make the trip down about once a week. There are other Thai spots closer to us, but for overall value, service and taste... this is our new "go-to" for Thai.

^^ 3 1/2 Stars. I stopped in for the first time out of the blue today for some take-out while running an errand. As I entered the establishment, I was immediately greeted by a staff member who was incredibly sweet and helpful. In actuality, to cut to the chase, the entire staff was very nice and accommodating. I ordered my Pad Thai to-go and the server immediately let me know there was a second lunch special option for Pad Thai with two spring rolls, and sushi with miss soup or salad for an $11.95 lunch special. How can anyone pass that up? So I immediately placed the order. She then pleasantly offered me a seat at the sushi bar while I awaited my take-out order. Another server delivered me a glass of ice water (without asking) while I waited. The restaurant had good vibes all around from the atmosphere to the staff. My Take Out (see pics): There was enough of food that I actually broke this into lunch and dinner. Two nice meals for the price of one. - The Miso Soup - A-Okay x2 for take-out! - The Pad Thai was very bland and a bit on the dry side - The spring rolls lacked crunch, a bit on the soggy side, though adequate - The sushi (Three big pieces including, tuna, white fish and salmon) was perfect. Loved it. In conclusion: After trying both the Thai and sushi, I would definitely grab a seat at the sushi bar and go back for some sushi. The Thai food, not so much. There is great energy in this place! Side bar: This is a great little place that is very clean, nice staff and DELIVERS within a 2 mile radius. This could be a huge bonus for all the downtowners looking for some power meeting deliveries or just to pop in for a calm and relaxing lunch. Either way, I would give it a whirl.

Excellent Thai food here, and so reasonably priced. I am so glad they are close to my job so I can swing by for lunch specials! I found this place through catering at work. They have excellent pad Thai when we cater, so I figured i would try them for other entrees. The first time I came, I had their chicken basil over rice to go. Very good but it prompted me to try it dine in. Today I came for their panang curry, and it was excellent as well. I came around 12:30 and it was packed but I was greeted and seated in minutes. I ordered quickly as well. The salad was crisp and cold, just like I like it. The dressing was sweeter than most ginger dressings, but I really enjoyed it that way. The food was served promptly and was so flavorful. Portions were very large for lunch. I have no complaints! Lots of other lunch specials i would like to try in the future. The lunch special menu alone is two pages of small print (one for Thai and one for sushi/Japanese, so there is bound to be something for everyone :) Parking is tight. They have a small lot and only a few metered spots on the street, so I had to park in a lot across the way near the FedEx office store. Don't follow in my footsteps for that though. It definitely says 'Fedex office parking only' on the lot :p

Great service and specials. They have a variety of veggie options and really good appetizers. Their Naruto Veggie roll was really refreshing and filling. The presentation of all the dishes is also very artsy. I usually get veggies and rice cooked in soy sauce. Sometimes I wish there was a wider variety of the vegetables they use, but I also order the most plain thing. I always try to make sure they do not use oyster sauce because a lot of these places tend to put it in a lot of the dishes. My boyfriend usually gets pad thai or pad sew ew. Both are very tasty. They made the pad thai for me without oyster sauce once and it was delicious. The wine prices are great and so are the 2 for 7 japanese beers. My favorite part about this place is its always empty. It seems like they make most of their money off of take out so its nice to go in for dinner and have the place to ourselves. The atmosphere is very south beach/neon art deco look. They have most of the bar lined with pink and blue lights. It seems like pink and blue is their theme. Its definitely cute for the location, but not my taste.

Solid food, good menu selection, both the sushi and the pad Thai were pretty good(but nothing to rave about), the service was great and the flower straw wrapper is a nice little touch. Also, they were playing awesome 90s music the whole time, great experience. Also, lunch specials are a great price and the tempura cheesecake was awesome!

Not much to look at from the outside, this hidden strip mall gem in Fort Lauderdale was a lovely discovery for six hungry vacationers earlier this month. We had made grand plans to eat "somewhere" downtown, but hadn't chosen a location, so with the help of the interwebs settled on Suan Thai & Japanses Restaurant. The edamame and fried sweet potato appetizers were both delicious - I would order both again. Members of our group tried: vegetable yakisoba, brown sauce with mixed vegetables, garlic sauce with vegetables, green curry, red curry, and veggie fried rice, and everyone was pleased, however there was mention that the brown sauce tasted a little bit too fishy. The portion sizes are reasonable, and there is a parking lot for easy (and free) access. Don't be dissuaded by first impressions; venture inside and take a bite.

Pad Thai is the best!!! Definitely be back soon!!! this place is hidden gem. All staff are friendly & helpful in menu selection.

The food and service here are excellent. It is a hidden gem- the immediate surroundings wouldn't suggest such a wonderful restaurant. I've eaten here many times now and the food has never disappointed. Just great!

Suan is the best Thai restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. My boyfriend and I are huge foodies and we especially LOVE Thai food! We have been to many other great Thai restaurants in south Florida, but this one is the BEST! I saw an earlier review about the slow service but my suggestion is DELIVERY! My boyfriend and I have Suan delivered every Friday night for our stay home date night. The delivery is SUPER fast. They always says it will be 45 minutes for delivery but every single time they've shown up within 25 minutes. Nothing better than sitting on your couch in your pajamas watching a movie and eating Thai food.... Just sayin....

  • Steve S.

Really this would be 4 stars if it weren't for the service. Was in the mood for some good Japanese food and have heard good things about Suan, although this was our first time here. Parking is easy, it has it's own parking lot. Not being a fan of sushi, whenever we come to a place like this, I always check to make sure they have a good selection of non-sushi and sashimi entrees in the menu. And Suan has plenty. They have everything from pad Thai to Tatsu to sea bass. It's in an unassuming little strip plaza. Food ordered: Steak Teriyaki (18.99) Which was grilled New York steak topped with carrots, snow peas and sesame seeds. It also comes with mushrooms but I requested they leave them off. I ordered it medium-well and it was very good. Prepared just right and lots of flavor. California Roll My girlfriend ordered this and gave it the thumbs up, and since she's the sushi conneussar I take her word for it. Although I must say it was expertly plated and the presentation was great. Steamed pork dumplings Very well prepared and tasted great House salad with Ginger sauce (you can also get it with peanut sauce) Was good and just the right portion although it had about double the Ginger sauce that it actually needed. Now for the service. Firstly, I think there was only 1 other table in there besides us. Maybe two more. So it wasn't busy at all. The server was very friendly, but that's where it ends. One of my biggest pet peeves when dining out is when my food arrives and then the waitress disappears. We didn't see her at all after our food arrived. Only two tables in there, and the other table had a different waitress. Our waitress never came to check on us, didn't ask how everything was, didn't even offer us more iced teas or water even though our glasses sat visibly empty on the table. So basically we saw our waitress when she took our order, and then again when we had to flag her down to get our check. Maybe she was new and it was a training issue. The unattentive wait staff had us very close to not returning. But the food saved them. We would most likely return, because the food was very good. I just hope the service is better the second time, or there probably won't be a third.

Place is tucked away in a small parking lot.... Was pretty good. I had Thai spice.. Suppose to be spicy Thai chicken with chili paste I asked for it spicy had to add a ton of spice to get it there. Overall the food was really good. They have sushi here as well I didn't order any but it looked fresh. Seemed weird to have Thai and sushi but others ordered it around me and it Looked really good! Also had Thai tea which was also good. Overall I would go back and try and few different things but not your conventional Thai food restaurant.

I went to this place Monday night after 9 30 they didn't wanna get us because they said they gonna close we wanted get to go I ordered Thai spice with beef but it was totally Different then how does it look like they didn't put a lot of stuff in my food so I m not gonna go back again

This is a hidden gem tucked right off Federal Highway in a little strip of shops, slightly north of Las Olas to the left. They have great lunch specials. The Thai menu is phenomenal and the sushi sashimi selection is wide and varied. The servers are SWEET and pleasant. They make these little art creations with the paper on the end of the straw in the water or drink you order. I love Thai food and the food we ordered here was hot, fresh and very tasty, great tasting Thai flavors. I always order rolls, each time I was not disappointed, the rolls are carefully crafted, even take-out, they were packaged neatly with the same care in presentation as if you dined in. Just awesome!

Great service! Staff very friendly. I got Pad Thai shrimp sushi combo the portion was perfect, sushi was fresh, pad Thai was tasty....Love this place!

There are not enough words to describe this wonderful out-of-the-way place, but I will try: firstly, I'm from Seattle and this is probably the best sushi I've ever had! Beyond that, the service was amazing! The custom tea blends are perfectly balanced (I had garden of joy), the yellow submarine was mouthwateringly delectable and the chirashi was generous and magnificent. The only thing that would make this better is if they had tamari (gluten free soy sauce), but I carry extra packets, so it was fine for me.

A 1950's diner has a love child with an early 2000's night club and serves some of the best quasi Thai/Japanese food you'll find in Ft. Lauderdale - is a fitting description. First and foremost the food was very good - hands down one of the best Rainbow Rolls I've ever had. Hyperbole you say? I guess I hit the place on a good day, according to some on here. The portions of fish were huge and fresh. As a side, I also ordered the Thai Wings. They were very much worth the sticky messiness that ensued. Also had - steamed dumplings, A+. Chicken/Cheddar egg rolls A+. Hell, even their kimchi sauce in a plastic squeeze bottle was great. As a much needed added bonus - the staff is top notch: fast, efficient, and very pleasant.

Great sushi great food. Always consistent, and they deliver. Ambiance leaves a bit to be desired. More cafeteria like, but a really good everyday sushi spot.

I was happy to see this pop up in my neighborhood, hopeful for a few good Thai options. I've eaten here and taken out from here on multiple occasions. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. The sushi and the Thai food here are pretty standard, but don't come expecting the absolute best in town. Their rolls are creative and their Thai options are more varied than some other Thai restaurants around town. We love Kaho Soi which is sometimes hard to find in south Florida. We were surprised when it was a featured special one afternoon, and it was quite authentic and delicious! Their curries are hit or miss. I'm a big Massaman curry fan and wasn't overly impressed with theirs. Overall, it's a good option for sushi and Thai if you're expecting a standard meal, and the price won't break the bank!

Yesterday was our first visit and we'll definitely be back. All 7 of us enjoyed our meals. I ordered a traditional Thai dish - Chicken Pad Thai. Other dishes in our party were Lobster Pad Thai, Red Chili Sauce (chicken), and a small sashimi boat. All were very fresh and very good.

Being located in a somewhat off beat set back strip mall, Suan turned out to be a delightful surprise to me. Checking on my mobile app, I only saw one review with the heading that it was Japanese, but I now see that I was somewhat mislead in that unfortunately there are duplicate entries for Suan and I read the wrong one. Yes, though Suan does have Japanese offerings it's basically Thai. That fact became readily apparent to me as soon as I entered and was greeting by an ever so polite and smiling Thai staff. Thailand isn't known as the "Land of Smiles" without good reason, something the pleasant well-mannered staff made more than evident. The interior, unlike those found in most set back strip malls was spotlessly clean, very well set out with stunningly nice modernistic décor, colorful and bright, plenty of table seating, a sushi bar and an open for easy observation and view kitchen and food prep area. I started off with their two for $7 Thai beers, the first of which was poured for me into a real beer glass, nicely chilled, and the other placed on my table in a glass ice filled bucket; very nicely done. I sort of made me feel like I was being served top shelf champagne rather than beer. I went for the salad with ginger dressing that was included with my entrée order of teriyaki scallops. My salad and entrée came served upon clean white plates. The salad was crisp to the bite and the dressing with a good ginger flavor. My entrée of scallops were served in perfect presentation, pleasantly tasty as is, but since I was also given four squeeze bottles of other sauces I naturally had to try each. Of particular note was an eel sauce, not so comely found or added to a table set which I've most often ended up making at home by combing a fermented soy sauce, white sugar, mirin (as sweet Japanese wine) and dashi (a fish stock). Upon questioning, I found that they likewise made their own in house eel sauce, and though I'm going to decline to fully admit it, their eel sauce was just about (told you I wouldn't admit it) as good as my own. Overall a delightful solid Four Star dining experience and good value for the dollar.

Absolutely love this place. To start with they have the best selection of real tea of any Asian joint around. Plus, the daily lunch specials are amazingly good and astoundingly reasonable in price. The service is always tops. Both the sushi and the thai are great!

Just OK thai food. I have had better curry. Also if you are taking this to go and need a fork or spoon you have to ask for it. They do not offer or put it in the bag unless you specifically ask.

Love this place! We come here with our 3 minions all under 5 and the waiters are just great and very nice The food is Amazing we love the chicken panang curry , the gyozas and Thai wings are delish our kids fave ! Above all our fave dish here is the tempura JB roll and Thai iced tea service is on point and this place is super clean .. I can add so much more but it's b at you give it a shot.. This is our go to spot when we don't feel like cooking simply amazing and delectable 5 stars!

Not that great for the prices. It's Thai delivery basically. My pad tai was bland and we had "crispy" Tofu appetizer that was a greasy mush pile and the spring rolls were mushy as well. Probably the worst Thai we've had, won't go back.

  • Tamara C.

What an enjoyable experience. This was my first visit and I will be back. I tried it based on the Yelp reviews. I had soup with spicy clear broth and chicken, spicy beef salad and tried the spicy tuna roll. Tuna was fresh and top notch... They filled the roll with tuna. The spicy beef salad was among the best I have ever had. I typically order this dish so I have tried many restaurants in the past. I ordered soup medium and even though I like hot, it was too spicy so I will not increase heat next time. My daughter loved the left overs and is looking forward to going next time with me.

Excellent food and service. I've had lunch here twice and both were great. Bento box with pad Thai and sushi. Tom Kar (chicken coconut) is awesome with good spice and flavor. The assortment of tea is nice too. Definitely one of my favorites!

Unbelievably good food. Very authentic Thai. We tried rice, noodles, curry, all were tasty and beyond our expectations. We are from Los Angeles, with a good selection of authentic Thai food, this is definitely one of the best matching LA quality.

If you want to try real Thai food, come here and you will not disappointed. For me, this is the best Thai food around ft.lauderdale. The price is not high like las o las plus it was so delicious. Also, the service was excellent. They are so friendly and a lot of smile. They can cook food whatever you want. Anyways, the chef came to ask me about my food :) i really appreciate that cuz her food was so good.

The food was good . I had the rainbow roll and avacoldo egg rolls but we were the last customers there . It was 10:25 and they closed at 10. While we were still ratting they tired on the floresent lights , so no more candle lite dinner and turned off the music. Very rude way to say pay and get out

Noticed this place a few weeks ago. Finally decided to give it a try. My girlfriend and I went for lunch. Place is nice it wasn't very busy when we came in and they have a lot of decent priced lunch combination specials. I ordered the pad thai sushi combination with salad and she had a sushi sashimi sunomono combination with a soup. Both borders were 12 dollars except I paid a dollar more for shrimp pad thai. Overall I can say it was definitely worth it the food was great service was friendly, and we will definitely come here again.

FOOD POISONING!!! Ate here on Tuesday this week and now I have a stomach virus associated with the mishandling of raw fish. The sushi chef also speaks no English and it came as a surprise to him when we asked him to change gloves to make my wife's vegetarian sushi meal. He then started speaking about us to other staff in the restaurant in Spanish which I can gather a few words of and he was clearly asking the staff to kick us out for being "picky".

Great food -- had the shrimp dumplings and chicken pad Thai. It's location is a block off of las olas and is way better in price. Clean restaurant and staff friendly. I'll be back.

Awesome service. Nice, bright, clean restaurant. Great variety of items on the menu. Great location. I would have given it more Stars but the parking absolutely is terrible. I'll guess about only 12 actual parking spaces. You will need to get creative and make your own park. Otherwise, it's worth the headache. :-)

While spending the holidays in Ft. Lauderdale, we found this lovely place. We had Christmas eve dinner here and it was delicious! The menu was vast and had lots to offer. We started with a nice appetizer of different sushi and hand rolls, really clean & tasty. I ordered the special, a lobster curry that was served in a pineapple boat. YUMMY! The staff was extremely attentive, the food was great and of a good value. They also offered a great selection of loose, organic teas as well as a full bar. At the end of the meal they gave us each a lucky cat, beckoning general good luck, wealth, prosperity. We enjoyed this place so much that we ordered to-go a few nights later. I highly recommend this place.

i'm pretty skeptical of this whole "japanese thai" thing that i see around so. fla. really... what do these 2 countries have in common? chinese vietnamese makes sense cos they're bordering countries but these 2??...... that said, i thought the thai side of things was well pulled off. my test dish on japanese food (agedashi tofu -- cos tempura is so easy to f up...) came out surprisingly acceptable...not totally as it should be....but acceptable. will have to try the sushi/nigiri/sashimi stuff someday....wonder if they can pull off an izakaya....

I came here on a Saturday night and it was empty. Probably for good reason. Tuna was bad. No. Not that it tasted bad. They served it after it had gone bad. I'm not kidding. I thought I was going to be sick. My friend liked her roll, but it was nothing to write home about. Save your time and money and head to Gaysha.

I purposely looked for this place and decided to give it a try. I called for the food to be picked up. I ordered the green curry chicken and pad thai chicken. Food was ready when i got there less than 15 min. The staff was nice, pleasant and acknowledged my presence. From the restaurant to my house I was starving! The yellow dressing for the side salad was like water in consistency. The chicken was dry and hard and tasteless, didn't taste fresh at all. The green curry has green peas in it like the one you buy from the frozen section of a grocery store. I was expecting pea pods not seeds. Didn't find any basil in it. And the pad thai, so-so and with only a few bean sprouts. The next time i'm in town I'll probably give it another try.

I had lunch here with my mom a few weeks ago. We went here based off of the high rating on yelp. I had the pad thai with pork and a cucumber roll. I think it came with the miso soup or I added it. The portion was gigantic but the taste was just not memorable. The service wasn't great, they forgot our spoons and didn't bring us a dish for soy sauce for the sushi. The cucumber roll was sloppy and the rice was dry. I really love Thai and Japanese food but I don't think they should combo it especially when neither cuisine is done properly. I probably won't be visiting this place any time soon.

Food: a few genuine hits, a few misses (some fish tasted a bit "off"); nothing particularly special or unique Good hot lavender tea, free refills Inconsistent service; no logic to when each dish would be served Very limited selection of alcoholic beverages, sadly Better sushi choices in Fort Lauderdale

Suan-t a good a sushi place then this is your place! The Tom yum soup was perfect & spicy. And all the rolls from the one eye roll to the reggae roll were to die for! Yummmmy! Clean place & good service. One of the best sushi places I found in soflo.

We are from out of town and were looking for sushi while heading back to our hotel. We found this place on Yelp and thought we would give it a try. What a great find! The food was very good and the service was terrific. Very nice and attentive wait staff. We ate outside since it was a little too cool with the air conditioning on. The sushi and sashimi were delicious. Try the buda boat. it is fun with lots of variety and great presentation.

First experience here was great overall. The pad thai chicken was cooked perfectly with a very generous portion that I could not finish. Gyoza and fried spring rolls also delicious. Sushi rolls were fresh, also with generous fish portions. The service was spot on except at the end - it was like pulling teeth to get the check despite the slow night. Waving my credit card in the air apparently had no effect on them. Maybe the tip I left will.

My waitress "Mui" knew I was serious when I wouldn't step foot in the restaurant until she told me if they had prik-nam-pla. "Oh - you have been to Thailand" - bingo! My usual baseline for a new Thai restaurant is the basil chicken or spicy fried rice, and then I will branch out on the menu if they are legit. She brought me a soup bowl full of delicious chili fish sauce with my app. She then made me an off-menu thai style fried rice loaded with lengthwise sliced thai peppers that was out of this world - literally the best I have ever had. I am probably going to have lunch there everyday I am in town for the next few weeks. If I could give it 6 stars I would - Thank you Mui!

Thai and Japanese food in a location reminding me of a diner, but with full view of the kitchen and sushi bar. Ahh. Love this place. Be nice if I lived near this restaurant, would eat lunch there everyday. Unfortunately I live in Georgia. Excellent service. Good is great for the price. It's not exactly the highest quality sushi and sashimi. But they do make it delicious, and the presenation is absolutely wonderful. My biggest thing I enjoy is the fact they manage to create charred fried rice, which is high heat cooking in a wok. Best fried rice I've had, usually hate any fried rice I eat. Highly recommend. Go eat there now.

This is our favorite hidden gem in Lauderdale. Everything is fresh and the service is great. The delivery and take out is faster then any place in town and they always get the order right, unlike delivery dudes. I would recommend Suan to everyone. The prices are affordable and it's delicious.

Wow found another great Sushi & Thai restaurant!!!! My friend turned me on to this hidden gem in Ft Lauderdale, where we met for lunch, it was fantastic food at a great price (Lunch special), we also had carafes of endless berry tea that was incredible!! Then the other night I decided to take my husband while out cruising in Ft Lauderdale and Suan did not disappoint!!! I think the food was even better the second time if that's possible?!! We had the Red Curry Chicken and The Shrimp Tempura Roll, so delicious everything was!!! We ordered two glasses of wine at $8 each and they were nice size portions of wine! We were very pleased with our meal, service and ambiance!! Will definitely be going back, well worth driving across town for!! Thank you to my friend Debbie for sharing her great Sushi & Thai Restaurant, Suan!!!!!

This place is consistently good. Try the Shrimp Shumai and/or Crunchy Spicy Tuna to start. Pad Se Ew Chicken is my typical Thai go-to and it's pretty decent here.

This is the first time for dinner. Very good. Steak teriyaki was delightful, not expensive and good tasting. I've had lunch here a couple of times. Both dinner and lunch are very good. Come !!!!

Sorry to bust your Yelp bubble on this spot folks but Suan is mediocre at best. If you know good sushi you have an understanding that chewy tuna is not fresh quality. The Thai Spice Chicken dish was average. Ambiance is cool with nice lighting & the open kitchen concept wins them another point. I will stick with Thai Spice for Thai food & Mikado for Sushi which are both located on Commercial Blvd.

Came here for lunch with the hubs. The restaurant was kinda busy but. It fully. Our waiter immediately greeted us and took our drink orders. I had de sushi Tataki sashimi lunch special my hubby had the sahismi and pad Thai lunch special. Our order took a while, we saw a couple that got there after us get served before us. But other than that everything was really good and fresh. I really want to go back for dinner to try some of the many other menu items that the offer.

1st time here today. Nice clean place. Great customer service! They have good priced lunch specials. The sushi was pretty good. Pad Thai was ok, not the best. The house salad with ginger dressing was great. A really nice touch is they bring all the relative sushi sauces to the table and they are labeled. Kimchi, spicy mayo, eel and another sauce. I will definitely come back.

Referred to Yelp to find a good restaurant while staying in Ft Lauderdale. Decided to try Suan Thai. This restaurant was given 4 stars and may even be deserving of 5. Food was promptly delivered to our table. We ordered classic Thai dishes such as pad Thai and red curry. Both were excellent. All dishes were spiced to the levels that were asked for. There were 6 in our party and all though the food was excellent so I am giving this restaurant 5 stars and will return some day.

The price is inappropriately expensive. Both times I tried here it was delivery so I can't speak to cleanliness,. The first time I tried here it was 5 stars despite the price. The second time I tried here it was not as fresh or delicious. I found a piece of wax paper in my duck curry. The miso soup was also very watery. I'll try other nearby less expensive restaurants.

Decided to try this place based off of the good reviews on Yelp. Ordered a couple of sushi rolls to split and teriyaki chicken. Everything came out at once, and we tried the chicken first. It was super rubbery and had the texture of undercooked chicken. After investigating, we realized it smelled bad and was sticky. As for the sushi, it was okay but hard to think about eating raw fish if the chicken was off...

Very, very good. Came with a few friends and we ordered a lot of different things. Loved every single bite of every single dish. Suan just became my new favorite restaurant.

The best sushi place that delivers in town. Better than most places that don't deliver. I like the Beauty and the Beat roll. I usually order 2.

This place is awesome! I felt like I was at a modern 50's diner that served sushi. The service is great and the sushi is really fresh. It was really cool that they brought you all the sauces in mini bottles before you even had to ask. One of my favorite sushi spots in Fort Lauderdale now.

I had dinner at Suan last evening. It is a very solid restaurant choice, with cooks who know what they are doing. The Pad Thai is very good (but not extraordinary) but the soba soup is just wonderful and could not be better. The Spicy Thai entree is very tasty. I ordered it spicy, and it truly was. The decor is diner-like and the whole restaurant is very, very clean. The service is perfect. The food obviously is prepared to order, which a diner can see because the kitchen is open to view. Everything is fresh and delicious. Go there!

Good neighborhood Thai food. I have only ordered pick up from here a few times, including the papaya salad, pad thai, and red curry. Everything has been pretty good, and nice large portion sizes. The service is always friendly when I arrive, offering me a drink of water while I wait, even though they are usually very prompt. Pricing is fine. I'll continue to utilize this spot for pick up Thai food, as it easy (with strip mall parking) and pretty good.

When I found this place, my first thought was, "Finally, a Thai restaurant in Ft Lauderdale with easy parking. I sure hope the food's good." My first trip this week was for take out. The food was good, but I let it sit too long before I started eating it. That was totally my fault, so I decided to go again and eat at the restaurant. The people running the restaurant are so sweet and attentive, and the presentation of everything is excellent. Even something as simple as the iced green tea - it came in a glass with a backup carafe. I ordered vegetable tempura and green curry with fried tofu. The tempura was fried well, the vegetables were al dente, and the green curry was outstanding. My husband ordered sushi, and he, the not easily impressed, went on and on about how well it was presented, portioned, and how great it tasted. If you love Thai or Sushi and you live or work in the downtown Ft Lauderdale area, I suspect this is going to be one of your new favorite places. The prices are a little higher than the other Thai restaurants in town, but I assure you it's worth it.

So pleasantly surprised by this little place! We had intended to pick up from Sushi One (closed today) and decided to try it here/ Spectacular food and impeccable service. A wide variety of teas to choose from which were delicious. Really fresh fish, great sushi, and outstanding soups. This is my new go-to sushi spot, and looking forward to trying the Thai!

Found this place on Yelp, so glad I did! Great food and excellent service. Very clean and love the layout of the restaurant. The prices are also reasonable and there's a lot of entrees to choose from.

Fresh, delicious sushi and great flavored Thai Food. Loved the Red Curry and the Pad Se Ew, perfect level of spicing. They don't cook down to the market, as so many places in Broward do. Have been there three times, and the service is always consistently excellent. The staff is very friendly, efficient and anticipatory. I hope they do very well, and I'll happily do my part to help their success. Actually, I think I'll make an order for pickup right now.

Best sushi and Thai I've had in Fort Lauderdale! They brig 4 sauces for u to enjoy with sushi, pad Thai was amazing, their fried rice is also Devine. It's a great place and we will continue to come there when we want great Asian food.

Very good food! I've come here quite a few times for lunch, I've ordered the sushi several times and the thai food once. First of all, the service is WONDERFUL. They are very kind and they go out of their way to make sure you are happy. As for the food, I've only ordered from the lunch menu. The menu is great and they have some unique sushi items that I enjoyed. The sushi rice has a little bit too much vinegar in it for my liking but others may disagree. The rolls are consistent and well made. The fish is ok. The quality varies, the only constant is their salmon which is very good. Overall the sushi get 3/5 stars. Last time I was there I ordered their Thai food. EXCELLENT! I loved it. Definitely 5/5. Another great thing I like about this place is the little rack of eel, spicy mayo, siracha and kimchee sauces they bring out. Makes creating your own little sauces easy and fun without asking for the sauces separately. I enjoy this place a lot and I will be going back many more times.

We finally found what we consider the best Thai in the Lauderdale area. I had the Drunken Noodle with fried tofu it was very satisfying and authentic. They will spice to your level, I had "Hot" and it was right on. The dinner portions were authentic as well, the other places we have tried were small. With that in mind the pricing was in line with the portions in my opinion. There are several Teas to choose from and a large variety of libations. The facility was very clean and the service was great. We will be going back for Sushi soon.

Came here for the first time, after the theater. Food was very tasty. Restaurant clean & bright. Most impressive, however, was the friendly and accomodating staff...Food always tastes better when served with a smile. Loved the fancy paper frills on the drinking straws; nice touch! Everyone in my party agred they'd come back. With the many restaurants in the area, that says a lot!

  • Ryan S.

This place is OK - the waitress was very polite & does a good job...She spun the paper of my straw very well, this made me happy - my sushi was pretty good & the servings were relatively solid. We went with mango & sticky rice for dessert... Pretty good. Not gonna rush back here, but wouldn't object to another visit if given an opportunity to spin by here again.

I have been here a few times now and the staff is always friendly. The restaurant as the name states is a fusion of Japanese and Thai food and has a Sushi bar. It's not fancy decor wise, but definitely not a dive. If you like spicy food you will be plasantly surprised. I have enjoyed their Thai Curry Chicken in the past and just recently tried their Thai Spice dish with chicken and brown rice, it was delicious. Noteworthy, is their hot and cold ice tea selection, not your run of the mill options. Give it a try.

The red curry is so delicious. I like spicy food, and based on the waitress's recommendation I ordered medium spicy. It was PERFECT! So delicious. My husband got the green curry (also medium) and he ate it all. I am glad we have a few other dining options cropping up in the US1 area and I hope this place stays! Next time I am going to try the Pad Thai. Check it out!

Housed in a revamped former Mexican fast food restaurant, this great addition to the area offers family/casual sushi and Thai. And the food is absolutely top notch. The decor is clean and inviting, but it's nothing special. The food is the true star here. Sushi, Thai, grilled and fried dishes, you name it - it's well made and super fresh. The tuna was so red it was crazy awesome. My youngest loved the huge chicken katsu, and pad Thai, sushi, tempura and other dishes were literally perfect.

So glad I found this place. Just a few blocks from my office AND they deliver. Very clean place and friendly staff. I LOVED my chicken pad thai and salad with peanut dressing so much that I have had it twice this week! I highly recommend you give this place a try.

The best in town. Fresh everything, clean restaurant, friendly service, reasonably priced. Spicy Tuna app is especially delicious, and the Massaman Curry is the best I've ever had and I've had many.

Best new restaurant I have been to in a long time. Owner came out to make sure food was incredible and her asking meant a lot. I can say I tried a lot of different foods from both Thai and Japanese choices and both were cooked perfect!

Ok, I just tried this place tonight for the first time. My fiancé and I walked in because we were in the area and craving some saki. We were so happy to find that the saki was BOGO on BOTTLES during happy hour. We ordered the coconut saki.......one word: DELICIOUS. Our server was so sweet and happy to make sure that our experience was perfect. We ordered the chicken katsu roll as an appetizer and the red curry to share as an entree. The katsu roll was OUT OF THIS WORLD....I know this is my inner fat girl speaking, but the fact that they offered BOTTLES of spicy mayo, eel sauce, kimchee, and sriracha sauce made me dance a little bit on the inside. I didn't have to ask for extra condiments for my sushi....We demolished the roll in five minutes...Also, the sushi chefs were very personable and joked around with us. We also shared the red chicken curry with brown rice. If you are super hungry, then you can order your own entree, but if you've had an appetizer then I suggest you share! We enjoyed the red curry so much that we started dipping our spoons into the leftover gravy and licking them like ferrel cats. The service was exceptional, and the prices are very reasonable. It's hard to find QUALITY sushi rolls for under $12.00 near Las Olas! Pro-tip: The shopping center in which they are located has limited parking, but the surrounding neighborhood has plenty of FREE parking. Trust me, it's worth the half-block walk to the restaurant. And, the neighborhood is SAFE. Don't overlook this little place....It also has take-out!!!! Swing in and give it a try!

The food was delicious, and definitely the best Thai food in Fort Lauderdale. The presentation was great, and the taste was spot on. All other local Thai places pale in comparison. Reasonably priced, very clean and bright, and the service was impeccable. We will be back! (Also for those of you with families- they are very child and toddler friendly).

The best and most authentic Thai food in South Florida! The service is always excellent and the food is consistently delicious. The owners are from Thailand but they have also created a great sushi menu. There is something for everyone at this hidden gem!

This restaurant brings out confusion in me. The food is good although I find the pricing a bit high for the portions I received. On top of this I find the interior not enjoyable at all. It feels like dining in fast food restaurant. And it is freezing cold, the windows are condensed ... Go figure. If it wasn't for the lesser experiences I would have given it a 4 stars.

This place is great. We did take out noodles and curry! The brown rice was light and fluffy. We ate in the restaurant on our second try. Great service, clean, and sushi was fresh. I love they have a variety of flavored teas. We will be here often.

After a few weeks, we started to see more and more people dining as we drove by so decided to give it a shot. We ordered a sashimi appetizer that was presented very nicely. It was almost too pretty to eat. It came w/huge portions of salmon, tuna, and white tuna. Everything was good except the white tuna tasted like it had just defrosted so it was super cold. (There's actually a photo from another yelper that posted it atop ice) I also ordered the traditional Tom Yum soup which tasted like it should; nothing too extraordinary. We shared a red curry plate with beef and rice. It was pretty good. The flavor punch could've been a little better, but I definitely want to come back to try other food. A table next to us ordered a sushi boat which looked amazing.

My new favorite Thai restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. The sushi is decent but the Thai food is excellent. The papaya salad is authentic. Will be coming here often. Gotta have the sticky rice and mango. Amazing desert and not often found in Thai restaurants.

Went here for take out lunch. The service is excellent. Very friendly. I couldn't find the menu online so I ordered there and they were very quick to prepare everything. The red curry chicken is excellent. I ordered it spicy and it was definitely hot. Their sushi is fresh and tasty. The special rolls are priced comparably to other places, but their lunch specials are definitely a good deal, they come with soup or salad and the portions are good. The ambiance is super casual.

Sushi was fresh and the rolls were large. The drunken noodles however were greasy and the noodles were overcooked. Service was fast and pleasant and restaurant was clean.
